Heart Notes - also called the heart of the fragrance. These emerge immediately after the top notes fade. Heart notes frequently feature florals or blooming plants, for example: roses, mimosa, magnolia, jasmine, along with spices like saffron, musk, pepper, and others.
Base Notes - reveal themselves last after the heart notes, but they last the longest, harmoniously complementing the heart. Base notes give the fragrance richness and depth, which is why you'll often find amber, woods, tobacco, and musk in this foundation.
